SEAiq is a full-featured marine navigation app.

It is the only marine navigation app that allows you to load your own charts in a variety of standard formats, including: S-57, S-63, iENC, BSB, and KAP. It also includes the ability to automatically download charts from NOAA for the USA and download of raster charts based on satellite imagery.

Other features include:
* Waypoints
* Routes
* Tracks
* Night color modes
* Anchor alarm
* Automatic download and display of weather (wind & isobar)
* Chart measuring tools (EBL/VRM)
* WiFi-based NMEA and AIS

No purchase is required to use SEAiq to view charts. All features are enabled during a 7-day evaluation period. After that, many of the features require purchase of an in-app upgrade.

Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

Pros and cons of SEAiq app for iPhone and iPad

SEAiq app good for

This app works just as well as the $4k plotter I have on the boat. Very user friendly for the not-so tech savvy person. Access to the free NOAA charts is a plus for fisherman and it notifies you of chart updates. I also like having it on my iPad for planning fishing trips away from the boat with other captains.
The only app which can use free enc charts outside US. Perfect support, fast answer, very friendly and helpful. It works without problems, easy to use, good interface. Now the app supports even the German inland enc charts (and other inland enc). It works perfect for me.
Its a perfect app to work with official ENCs. The upload of the charts works easy and simple. The additional features are very nice! Integration of AIS NMEA etc is perfect! The support is fast and friendly! There are many plans i heard form the support to make the App better and better! Well done! i like to work with!
I am using it with CM93ed2 charts and it is working perfectly. On the iPhone 4 it takes quite long for loading (30 sec) but afterwards it works fine. On the iPad mini there is no waiting at all and it runs perfectly. I could not test the AIS functions, but beside from this everything works properly.
The app works great with ENC-charts and the support of NMEA GPS server/client is very useful. Thus I can use SEAiq on an iPad without GPS with an iPhone providing the GPS information with an NMEA server app running.
SEAiq is always a help, when information about ships in the vicinity is needed quickly.

Some bad moments

I purchased this app more than a year ago and it was working fine with my CM93 charts, but since last update they have removed the reason why I had bought this app and it is now perfectly useless without my charts... Once again we get screwed by updates and a waste of my money
I am loosing interest for this app which dropped the use of Cmap and add more and more in-app purchases. A good navigation machine for sailors which is turning itself into a super cash machine for the developers. They lost me.
The old CM 93 charts were essential to fill in when mo other were available. That was excellent. No this app is barely useful.
CM93 Charts are not supported any more. The app is practically useless.
When i try to delete this program, it freezes my ipad ii. Have reset the ipad to recover.
Dont bother getting this app after developers stopped supporting CM93 maps.. The app now is worthless So bad
